Q. Is it permissible for a woman to travel without a Mahram if the journey is safe?
A. It is not permissible for a woman to travel without a Mahram even if it is assumed that the journey is ‘safe’. When it was Haraam for women to travel without a Mahram even during Khairul Quroon which was the best of eras, then how can it be permissible in this era of immorality? The Fitnah is a million times worse in this era.
It is tantamount to kufr to believe that women are permitted to travel without mahrams. It is like kufr because Rasoolullah (Sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said: ‘It is not lawful for a woman who believes in Allah and the Last Day to travel without a mahram.’
