Allah Ta’ala states: “No being knows what has been concealed for him from amongst those things which will be the coolness of the eyes (i.e. the favours and pleasures of Jannat).” (Surah Sajdah, Aayat 17)
Nabi Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam said: “Allah Ta’ala says: ‘I have prepared for my pious servants that which no eye has seen, and which no ear has heard of and which has not crossed the heart of any human being.’” (Mishkaat)
THE CONSTRUCTION OF JANNAT
The Sahaabah Radhiyallahu Anhum asked: “What is the construction of Jannat?”
Rasoolullah Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam replied: “One brick is gold and one brick is silver. Its mortar (plaster) is a very fragrant (special type of) musk and its stones are (dazzling) pearls and (stunning) rubies. Its dust (sand) is saffron. Whoever enters it (i.e. Jannat), will live in comfort and luxury. Such a person will never have grief (worry and distress). He will live forever. He will never die. His clothes will not become old or worn out. And his youth will never come to an end.”
[Mishkaat, Musnad Ahmed, Tirmizi, etc.]
NO NEED TO SLEEP IN JANNAT
A man asked Rasoolullah Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam: “Will the people of Jannat sleep?” Nabi Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam said: “Sleep is the brother of Maut and the people of Jannat will not die.” (Mishkaat, Bayhaqi)
THE WEATHER OF JANNAT
Allah Ta’ala states: “They (the people of Jannat) will be reclining (relaxing) on couches (sofas). There (i.e. in Jannat), they will neither find heat (summer) nor cold (winter).” (Surah Dahr, Aayat 13)
Hadhrat Abdullah Ibn Mas’ood Radhiyallahu Anhu said: “(The weather of) Jannat is clement (pleasant). Neither is it hot nor cold.” (Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah)
Neither will there be sun nor a moon in Jannat. There is no night in Jannat.
THE TEETH OF THE KEY OF JANNAT
It was said to Wahb Bin Munabbih: “Isn’t the key of Jannat Laa-Ilaaha-illallah?” He (Wahb) Said: “Of course, it is! However, there is no key except that it has teeth. (The teeth of Kalimah Tayyibah is correct Aqaa-id and good deeds.) So, whoever comes to the door (of Jannat) with [a key (Kalimah Tayyibah) which has] teeth (i.e. A’maal-e-Saalihah – righteous deeds), the door of Jannat will open for him. And he who comes to the door (of Jannat) with (a key) which has no teeth, the door will not open for him!” (Al-Mataalibul Aa’liyah)
In addition to having correct Aqaa-id (beliefs), it is imperative to perform righteous deeds and abstain from sin.
