A. Did Nabi Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam say you must give gifts on 10th Muharram? The answer is a clear – NO! Did any of the Salafus Saaliheen give gifts on 10th Muharram? NO! Thus, giving gifts specifically on 10th Muharram is Bid’ah. Furthermore, the presentation of Ahaadeeth to justify baseless customs, is misinterpretation of the Ahaadeeth. The gift custom initiated on auspicious days is inherited from the Kuffaar. The element of Tashabbuh is thus glaring.
